Gel cushions typically use a contoured solid foam base to help contour around the body. Encased in a protective cover, gel cushions are easily maintained and cleaned. To ensure longevity, kneading the gel cushion’s surface periodically will help maintain a fluid feeling. Check the cushion’s owner’s manual for more detailed instructions.
Gel cushions can be split into two categories: Skin Protecting and Positioning and General Use.
General Use Gel cushions are primarily for comfort and typically will provide the best comfort of our General Use categories. The cushions will have a foam base with gel packs on top. Pressure relief will be minimal to moderate. These cushions will typically be for those who will spend three or four hours on their cushion, have full to near full sensation, and have not had a history of skin breakdown. These cushions are great for use on a car seat, furniture, lift chairs, and scooters.
The gel cushions in Skin and Positioning are for those who need assistance with their balance and stability when sitting. The pressure relief will also be high so these cushions will also be appropriate for those with a moderate to high risk level of skin breakdown. Those needing wedge build ups, adduction or abduction leg positioning, or hip support would best be served by this category.

If it arrives and it is not what you thought or does not meet your needs, you are free to return it as long as it is in new condition and the original packaging.
